When you need a diversion from the DC Metro area's city streets, there are plenty of parks and green spaces to explore in Capitol Hill. A centuries-old park on the U.S. Capitol Grounds, the Bartholdi Fountain has long been a local favorite. Here, you can spread out your red checkered picnic blanket in the midst of flourishing flowers and the monumental fountain. And in case you don't recognize the name Bartholdi, he is the French sculptor who designed the fountain and also the Statue of Liberty. Folger, John Marshall, and Lincoln are a few more must-visit parks.
